LGBTQ+ community sign letter supporting residents of Garvaghy Road
TO the residents of Garvaghy Road, We, members of the LGBTQ+ community across this island and beyond, send our solidarity, respect, and support to you at this time. Your community has carried decades of strain, resilience, and determination in the face of pressure that no area should have to endure. You have lost loved ones and we recognise the trauma and fear this march has reignited. We want you to know that your experiences are seen, your courage is recognised, and your right to safety, dignity, and peaceful living is shared by us wholeheartedly. Our communities understand what it means to be targeted, to be spoken about rather than spoken with, and to have our lives shaped by forces outside our control. We recognise the strength it takes to stand together, to protect one another, and to insist on fairness even when the spotlight feels heavy.
