The Belfast Media Group Belfast Business Top 50
Celebrating entrepreneurs and business leaders
who are role models within their communities.
Fifty businesses which fly the flag for the new Belfast are to be honoured in a special Stormont celebration this September, organised by the Belfast Media Group in association with BT.
The Belfast Business Top 50 will pay tribute to the entrepreneurs and business leaders who are role models within their communities, creating wealth and jobs in challenging economic times.
“The fourth annual Belfast Business Top 50 will not only acknowledge the contribution of our business titans but also those small business champions who are making a difference in underserved areas of Belfast and whose innovation and grit is worthy of recognition,” said Máirtín Ó Muilleoir, MD of Belfast Media Group.
Minister Margaret Ritchie of the Department for Social Development will be guest speaker at the event in Stormont’s Great Hall on 25 September.
“Belfast is a city enjoying a period of unprecedented urban regeneration,” said Minister Ritchie.
“Local entrepreneurs are grasping the opportunities presented and are growing and diversifying the economy of the city through their dedication, innovation and hard work.
“I am particularly pleased that the event will also highlight the vital contribution being made by social economy businesses across the city. I look forward to honouring all these achievements at the Belfast Business Top 50 Awards ceremony later this year.”
Said Michael Cunningham Head of Business Sales, BT: "BT's support for the Belfast Business Top 50 reflects our ongoing commitment to the businesses which form the backbone of the resurgent Belfast. We are particularly pleased that this year's listing will include a special category for those enterprising companies which are making the most efficient use of new Information Communications Technology in their operations."
The Belfast Business Top 50 is also being supported by KPMG, Silotank and Invest NI, which is supporting a special award for entrepreneurs who have completed the Go For It programme.
Among previous Belfast Business Top 50 honorees have been Lord Rana, Bro McFerran, CEO of AllState, Peter Curistan of the Sheridan Group, and Howard Hastings, MD of Hastings Hotels and Dave Horgan of Petrel Resources as well as social entrepreneurs Sarah Heron of East Cafe and Liam Maskey of Intercomm.
