Instonians U19 team clinch Ophir trophy
Instonians U19 rugby squad got their season off to an excellent start when they won the Ophir seven-a-side Youth Tournament at Mallusk on 20 August. The annual competition attracts some of the brightest, underage rugby teams from across Ulster. Instonians were in a difficult section, which included Ballymena, Ophir and Randalstown. They made a great start when they beat hosts Ophir 36-0 in the first round. This was followed by a 26-5 over Ballymena and a 20-7 win over Randalstown....
Carryduff man inspires Ireland to bronze medal at World University Championships
Belfast rower James Graham and former RBAI pupil, and Carryduff man, Marc Butler were part of the Irish men’s eight rowing team which collected a bronze medal at the World University Rowing Championships in Szeged, Hungary. James, the 2010 Queen’s Belfast Club captain, along with Marc collected their international medals to add to impressive national level wins in South Africa and Ireland.
