The new daily Irish language newspaper Lá Nua was launched in January 2007 after the newspaper, which is managed by Belfast Media Group, won the £400,000 contract awarded by cross-border body Foras na Gaeilge.
Lá Nua is a dynamic, colourful, newspaper which is available in print and online. Alone among Irish dailies, Lá Nua is available in its entirety in pageturning format on the internet and also provides a daily podcast.
Lá Nua's readers represent the 'TG4 generation'; they are young, well-educated and professional who see Irish as a key part of their progressive 21st Century identity.
Lá Nua chief executive Connla Lawlor (c.lawlor@belfastmediagroup.com) has brought the new-look title to new heights in 2007 and oversees offices in Donegal and Belfast.
